Paul Mila's Whales Angels

WHALES' ANGELS: Scuba divers Terry Hunter and husband, ex-NYPD detective Joe Manetta, return in a new underwater adventure, battling pirate whalers and international conspirators in this seagoing tale of intrigue and murder.

Whales Angels
or

Divers Terry Hunter and her husband, ex-NYPD detective Joe Manetta, are busy running their Cozumel dive operation and starting a family. But a chance encounter with a female diver from Holland leads them on a globetrotting adventure, from the balmy Caribbean to the frigid North Atlantic. While diving with humpback whales in the Dominican Republic, they learn a rogue sea captain is illegally hunting whales and killing activists attempting to stop the hunt.

Far more dangerous for the whales is a conspiracy led by Japan, Iceland, Finland and Norway, to overturn the International Whaling Commission's whaling ban at the Commission's upcoming meeting in Iceland.

Terry and Joe travel to Iceland, offering their assistance to save the whales and solve a cover-up reaching the highest levels of government. Their involvement entangles them in a dangerous world of international politics, intrigue and murder, where fate has a surprise in store for them.

About the Author

Paul J. Mila traded in his corporate suit for a wetsuit, and now devotes his time to writing, scuba diving around the world, underwater photography, and speaking to groups about ocean conservation.  He has enjoyed the opportunity to photograph and dive with Caribbean reef sharks in the Bahamas, humpback whales in the Dominican Republic and the South Pacific Tonga Islands, diverse sea life in the Cayman Islands, Cozumel, Bonaire, Hawaii, Antigua, and in his home waters off Long Island, NY.

Paul’s underwater pictures have been featured in magazines, National Geographic Television, and on web sites related to scuba diving.

Following the advice of writers who said to write about what you know and like, he has incorporated the ocean and diving as the core of his writing.  FIREWORKS is his third novel. Diving in the same waters as the characters in his books has enabled him to write with realism, and to describe for non-diving readers the beauty and wonder of exploring our undersea world.

He and his family reside in Carle Place, New York, a small town on Long Island.
